The Ford freestyle is a mid size crossover Sports Utility Vehicle or station wagon that made its debut for the first time in 2005. It was introduced by the Ford Company as a replacement for the Ford Taurus station wagon. The Freestyle has been built on the D3 body manufactured by Ford and has three rows of seats that can seat seven. On introduction the Freestyle came in three versions, SE, SEL and Limited. The Freestyle derives its power from a single engine, which is a 3.0 Liter V6. The vehicle is available with front wheel drive though buyers can choose to equip it with an all wheel drive. The SE and SEL are running on 17 inch tires whereas the Limited runs on 18 inch tires.
The Second generation was introduced at the Chicago Auto Show in 2007. The vehicle was given a new grille and a new engine, which is a 3.0-liter V6. The freestyle is available with front wheel drive though buyers can choose to equip it with an all wheel drive. The vehicle is available in two versions, the SEL and the Limited. The vehicle has three rows of seats and can seat 6, but if you fold the second row of seats, it can seat 7 passengers. The SEL is equipped with 17 inch tires, headlights that switch on by themselves, air conditioning, a driver seat that can be adjusted in six different ways by the touch of a button, a CD player that is placed in the dashboard of the vehicle, a steering wheel that is covered in leather and has the music system buttons placed on it. The Ford Freestyle SEL version has a computer; all systems on the vehicle can be switched on or off with the touch of a button and its mirrors are heated. The Limited has 18 inch tires; the seats in the front and second row are made of leather, one touch seats in the front row. The front row seats are heated and it has a better music system then the SEL version.
