Kiplinger's bestowed their Best New Sports Car Award to the completely redesigned 2007 Jaguar XK-Series, and while the 2008 model has received a few small changes, its seductive style, high performance abilities and posh cabin are still just as hot and desirable. The 2008 Jaguar XK-Series of high powered luxury coupes and convertibles with their sleek muscular lines may no longer have a J-shifter, but they are as highly regarded and adored as any Jag ever was. Aside from a few cosmetic upgrades for the interior, the only other changes for the 2008 model are a new antennae, which is hidden from sight within the rear spoiler, and the deletion of the classic ' British Racing Green' exterior paint color.

There are enough nostalgic styling cues to make the XK-Series fondly reminiscent of prior Jaguars and enough advanced technology both under the hood and incorporated into the overall design to make this more than just a wistful updated ornament for your driveway. The XK-Series is available in two trims - the base model XK and the high performance XKR-and both are available in coupe or convertible body styles. The XK comes is loaded with luxurious and very user friendly features that include distinctive 18 inch rims, high output xenon headlamps, adaptive suspension damping, rear parking sensors, power adjustable heated leather seats, Bluetooth connectivity, a navigation system and a 6 speaker audio system with in dash CD/MP3 changer. The XKR comes with 19 inch wheels and larger brakes; heavily bolstered seats, sport tuned steering and suspension system, adaptive headlights, quad exhaust tips and a unique aluminum grille. Some of the major options for the XK-Series are available in bundled packages or a la carte and include a heated leather steering wheel, power folding side view mirrors, burl or alloy interior trim, and a nice variety of wheel designs.

The rear wheel drive 2008 Jaguar XK-Series features a 4.2 liter V8 engine that generates up to 300 horsepower and mated with a 6 speed automatic transmission with manual paddle shifters. The XKR is equipped with a supercharged version of the same engine that is capable of 420 horsepower. A thoroughly enjoyable and refined rumble is emitted as the XK-Series accelerates and glides through the gears.
