The Lincoln MKZ is a mid-size luxury car that made its debut in 2007. It replaced the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr. The Zephyr name was revived by Lincoln in 2005 and had the same body as that of the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan. The Zephyr itself was a replacement of the Lincoln LS which was powered by a 3.0 Liter V6 engine. In 2007, Lincoln increased the size and horsepower ratings of the Zephyr and changed its name to the MKZ. The car is the first vehicle in Lincoln's stable to use the words MK in its name. The MKZ is built on the CD3 body that was been derived from Mazda. The MKZ has a stereo system with 14 speakers rated at 600 watts which sets it apart from the Ford, Mercury, and Mazda models. The MKZ comes in only one version in its debut year. It is powered by a 3.5 Liter V6 engine that is rated at 263 horsepower. It is equipped with an all-wheel drive system that is electronically controlled, which transfers power from the engine to either of the front two tires or from the front tires to the back tires.

The Lincoln MKZ is equipped with 17 inch alloy tires, power leather seats with memory, a stereo system with a CD player and seven speakers, and a MP3 player jack. Other equipment that can be added to the vehicle are chrome rims, xenon HID headlights, a stereo system that is THX certified, satellite radio, navigation system and front seats that can be heated or cooled.
