This year, Nissan introduces a new 4-door compact SUV crossover that has already received some of the best fuel economy ratings in its class as well as much industry praise for the exceptionally smooth car-like ride and agile handling of the 2008 Nissan Rogue. The Rogue has a crisply utilitarian yet clean, tasteful and polished appearance inside and out. The cabin is extremely comfortable, well designed and filled with high quality materials with an excellent fit and finish. The Rogue is not the most powerful, largest or most family friendly crossover, but it does distinguish itself with exceptional road manners and head turning style.

The 5 passenger Rogue is available as the front wheel drive S and the SL, and the all wheel drive S AWD and SL AWD trims. The S and the S AWD are only differentiated by their drivetrains and share a standard equipment list that includes 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories, and a 4 speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with auxiliary audio jack. There are no factory options available for the S trim versions. The SL and the SL AWD are also identical with the exception of their drivetrains and in addition to the standard equipment found on the S models the SL versions include roof rails, 17 inch alloy wheels, tinted windows and a height-adjustable driver seat. Options for the SLs are bundled together in highly desirable and intelligently designed packages that can quickly increase the overall price of the vehicle. All Rogues provide 57.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seat folded down and 28.9 cubic feet with the rear seat up.

All 2008 Nissan Rogues are equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an outstanding continuously variable transmission Acceleration is plentiful for a 4 cylinder and fuel economy is average for this category at 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway for the S AWD and SL AWD and 22/27 for the S and SL.

A long travel suspension system absorbs road imperfections with ease and the electric power steering is responsive, giving the 2008 Nissan Rogue a more car like performance than its competitors. This well tuned crossover represents a worthy addition to the Nissan line.
