The Saturn Aura Hybrid is manufactured by Saturn and is most often referred to as the Aura Greenline. Introduced for the 2007 model year, the Greenline features a four speed automatic transmission, 16" wheels, air-conditioning, full power accessories and a stereo with a CD player and auxiliary input jack. The only options available are in the form of the Preferred Options package, which adds an eight-way power adjustable drivers seat, steering wheel mounted audio controls and power-adjustable, heated outside mirrors.

The fuel saving and environmentally preferred hybrid technology is delivered in the form of 2.4 liter inline 4 cylinder engine that works in conjunction with an electric motor and batteries to produce164 horsepower. Regenerative braking, which turns kinetic energy from braking into electrical energy, charges the hybrid system's batteries. The mpg for this model is rated at 28 mpg city and 35 miles per gallon highway, which is about 8 mpg more than what can be achieved with the non-hybrid Aura models.

Other manufacturers have produced hybrid vehicles that are capable of running part time solely on electric power, which is not the case with the Greenline and therefore it is not quite as fuel efficient as some other midsize hybrids. However, the Greenline has a much lower sticker price than most of the competition, with the average retail price for midsize sedan hybrids being approximately $31,000 and the Greenline coming in at just over $22,000. In fact, in comparison to non-hybrid midsize sedans, which averaged at about $28,000 for the 2007 mode year comparably equipped, Saturn's Saturn Aura Hybrid model is still a great deal.

In addition to fuel savings and cleaner emissions, the Saturn Aura Hybrid offers room for 5 passengers in a comfortable and spacious cabin with European inspired flare throughout. Safety and security are provided via four-wheel antilock disc brakes, head curtain and side airbags, traction control and stability control. Although not one of the speediest mid size hybrids, the ride is smooth and the appearance is just as inviting and attractive as the low sticker price.
