The 2007 Ford Fusion is offered in five models: the I4 S with an MSRP of $17,995; the I4 SE at $18,920; the I4 SEL $20,010; the V6 SE $21,645; and the V6 SEL $22,735. All are five passenger sedans with 100.1 cubic feet of interior space and 15.8 cubic feet of trunk space.
Engine options include the Duratec 16V I4 with front-wheel drive and 160 horsepower returning 23 mpg city and 31 highway or the Duratec 24V V6 with 221 horsepower (all-wheel drive optional) rating 20 mpg city and 28 highway. Transmission options on the 16V engine are a manual with five speeds or a comparable automatic. For the 24V engine a six-speed automatic is the default installation.
All models have the LATCH anchoring system for child seats and the door locks to the rear are rated as child safe. Inside the trunk there is an emergency release that glows in the dark. Occupants are protected by standard air bags as well as those positioned to guard against impact from the side. Car theft is discouraged with the SecuriLock system and a perimeter sensing alarm.
The 2007 Ford Fusion cab be outfitted with a navigation system based on DVDs for models above the I4 S. An AM/FM/CD combo audio unit is standard with a jack for auxiliary input from MP3 players. SIRIUS Satellite radio is an option on all models above the I4 S.
