Look for four models in the 2007 Buick Lucerne line of five-passenger sedans including: the CX ($26,410), the CXL V6 ($29,425), the CXL V8 ($31,435), and the CXS ($35,440). The line opens with the CX and CXL, which each operate on a 197 hp V6 with a capacity of 3.8 liters. Move up to the CXL V8 and CXS and you get a 4.6-liter Northstar churning out 275 hp.
The trunk on the Lucerne offers up about 17 cubic feet of space for cargo and when properly outfitted the vehicle will tow as much as a thousand pounds. The included system from OnStar keeps an eye on the Lucerne with system diagnostics while giving you an assist in finding the nearest gas station. You also get hands-free technology to place a call, services for locating the conveniences you need as well as a broad range of information, and navigation that will take you to your destination one turn at a time.
Finding a complete system of driver and passenger air bags is no surprise in a vehicle of this quality. Buick goes a step farther and gives the driver a bag that deploys to two depths. A sensor system locates the presence of a passenger in the second seat. You also get impact bags to the side and curtain bags to protect the heads of outboard occupants in the front and to the rear.
In the base 2007 Buick Lucerne CX the audio option is a standard tri-combo unit but you do pick up an external jack for your own audio devices. Higher up in the line you pick up onboard capability for MP3 playback as well as volume controls that are speed conscious. All audio units are protected with Theftlock. If you opt for premium sound you'll get a changer in the dash for six discs. On the list of options you can choose a navigation system with a touch screen in all Lucernes except the CX. The base system offers six speakers but you can go up to nine. All models can be outfitted with XM Satellite on the list of features.
