The 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee carried a classification of "mid-size." There are four models: the Laredo ($28,360), Limited ($35,425), Overland ($39,950), and SRTS ($40,800.) The Laredo is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 (210 horsepower), the Limited by a 4.7 liter V8 (235 horsepower), the Overland a 5.7 liter V8 (330 horsepower), and the SRTS by a 6.1 liter HEMI V8 with 420 horsepower. The diesel engines allow for maximum tow ratings of 7,400 lbs. with 6,500 for the 5.7 V8; 6,500 with the 4.7 V8; and 3,500 on the 2.7 and SRT8.
Front head room measures 39.7 inches with leg room at 41.7. Cargo volume is 67.4 cubic feet. Each model comes with an automatic transmission with five speeds as a standard feature and all except the SRT8 are available in two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The all-wheel brakes are disc units with technology for anti-locking. Systems are in place to monitor traction and to guard against skids and rollovers.
Both a DVD system for the entertainment of rear passengers and a system for navigation are options as is handsfree controll of cellular phones, a camera to monitor the rear of the vehicle, the ability to start the engine remotely. All 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokees have a standard audio combo unit with 276 watts of power or drivers can opt for SIRIUS Satellite Radio.
