The 2007 Subaru Tribeca comes in two models and four configurations (five-passenger and seven-passenger.) The base Tribeca starts from $29,995; the Tribeca Limited from $32,495. All are powered by a 245-hp, 3-liter, DOHC Subaru Boxer engine delivering 215 lb-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. (Base fuel economy is 18 mpg city, 23 highway and varies by size and configuration.) Maximum towing capacity is 2,000 lbs (3.500 with the trailer towing kit.)
The base model has Subaru's standard all-wheel drive, a dual zone temperature control system, and a standard 100-watt, six-speaker audio system with single-disc, CD player that also has MP3 playback capability. The Limited (also with all-wheel drive) has leather-trimmed upholstery, two-position driver's seat memory, and a 160-watt, 9-speaker, premium audio system with subwoofer and a six-disc, in-dash changer. (All Tribecas feature XM Satellite Radio.) The impressive range of options on the Limited include a touch-screen GPS navigation system and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (on the seven-passenger model only.)
The comprehensive airbag system includes advanced front bags with a driver's seat position sensor and front-passenger occupant-detection sensor. Side curtain bags protect the front and outboard second-row occupants. Seat-mounted front side-impact air bags are also present. In addition, the 2007 Subaru Tribecas have rear child-safety door locks and the LATCH system for child safety seats.
